About this Grant

The City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts is dedicated to fostering a thriving arts community by supporting local artists and cultural organizations.

If you’re an artist or arts organization looking to grow, develop partnerships, and contribute to a creative community, this grant can provide the support you need.

Eligibility Guidelines

The grant program provides funding for activities that are not otherwise funded by the City of Fairfax through a direct grant from the City Council. Eligible projects should provide:

• Educational programs that increase understanding and appreciation of the arts.
• Access to high-quality art for the citizens of Fairfax.
• Opportunities for artists to develop skills and showcase their talents.
• Support for emerging arts organizations and community activities.

How to Apply

Apply Now 

1. Confirm your eligibility for funding in Fiscal Year 2026.
2. Propose activities, events, or programs occurring between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026
3. Complete the online interactive, fillable grant application in full.
4. File the application before the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
