Fairfax City Councilmember Anthony T. Amos

 Anthony T. Amos is serving his first term on the City Council.

He was the city representative on the Fairfax Campus and Community Advisory Board in 2024.

Amos currently works as a legislative and community outreach aide for the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, handling constituent services cases relating to land use, permits, taxes, environment, stormwater, and utilities.

Born in Germany, Amos is the son of a retired Army captain and Eritrean immigrant and worked for the state senate for the Hawaii legislature, focusing on policy research and educational development.

He has received the Rising Star Award from Volunteer Fairfax, the Jack Wood Award for Town-Gown Relations from George Mason University, and the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Bernie L. Bates Foundation. He was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha and Pi Gamma Mu societies.

Amos earned his bachelor's degree in sociology and political science from the University of Hawaii-West Oahu. He earned his master’s degree in public policy from Mason, specializing in economic policy, and was appointed graduate student ambassador for the Schar School of Policy and Government.

He is a member of the Fairfax Rotary Club, the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters, and the NAACP.

He and his partner Marena have lived in the city since 2022.
