Free Weekly Ratcliffe-Allison-Pozer House guided tours:
Second and Last Saturdays of the month, May – October, noon - 3 p.m. Please check Tours and Programs page for any schedule changes.
Open for short tours during many city special events: Ratcliffe-Allison-Pozer House tours on Independence Day, Friday, July 4, 11:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Free Old Town Fairfax Guided Walking Tours, are offered by Historic Fairfax City Inc. the last Saturdays of the month May - October.
Self-guided tours of Old Town Fairfax are available with A Walk Through History, a free brochure available on the city website (click here) and from the Museum and Visitor Center, 10209 Main St.
Group Tours
Guided adult tours for groups of eight people or more at any city historic sites may be reserved for a $25 fee per group.
Guided youth tours for students and scouts are available; please make reservations at least one month in advance. Cost is $3 per child, chaperones free, no charge for schools located within the City of Fairfax. Programs are tailored for different age groups and educational needs, and incorporate hands-on activities. Space and staff scheduling limits apply.

Panel Discussion: How Women Compete On and Off the Field: The Impact of Title IX

Celebrate Women’s History Month in Fairfax City by attending a free panel discussion titled How Women Compete On and Off the Field: The Impact of Title IX at 2 p.m. March 12 in the Fairfax City Hall Council Chamber. The panel discussion will be followed by a reception.
Mayor Catherine Read will offer an introduction, followed by an examination of the history of Title IX by Crystal C. Coombes, Grand River Solutions Section 504 Practice Lead. Panel speakers include Nena Rogers, George Mason University interim vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics; Susan Barborek, SOAR Management Consulting CEO and Fairfax High School gymnastics coach; and Sarana Hyatt, Tandem Friends School athletic director.
Title IX (nine) of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. Title IX has given millions of girls and women access to educational and athletic opportunities previously unavailable to them.
The free event by the City of Fairfax Commission for Women is held in collaboration with the city Office of Historic Resources and George Mason University.
